Julien a passionate womaniser is hell-bent on gaining power and climbing the ranks of society. Starting off as just a tutor for mayor de Renal’s children he sets his eyes on madame de Renal the wife of the mayor and seduces her into his love. When the adversary to the mayor finds out about the secret affair he makes things dirty with rumours that leads to Julien fleeing to Besancon seminaryDuring the course of the story Julien becomes a great priest envied by his peers but his malicious intentions cloud the authenticity of the position of the practice. Frustrated by the attitude and behaviour of the Parisian society towards him he grows more repulsive and irritated when suddenly he falls in love with Marquis’s daughter and impregnates her infuriating marquis. Will this love story end in a bitter tragedy? Will a past love affair come in between a beautiful love story between Julien and the marquis’s daughter?
