The Regulations of Purity and Impurity in Islam

<p>The papers collected in this volume represent the multifaceted approach by which scholars and researchers understand and rationalise Sharia regulations of purity and impurity. From the contextual analysis of their origins and compilation to their present-day reception and interpretation(s) this volume expounds the richness and diversity of discussions that emerge from the topic. The papers in this volume demonstrate that <em>fiqh</em> or the human interpretation of Sharia can be persuaded through various epistemological theological and hermeneutical standpoints and that each standpoint potentially impacts the everyday lives relationships and interactions of Muslims in different ways. </p>
