About The Book

The theme of this work is the study of personality based on the relationship between initial maladaptive schemas and empathy given its importance for the development of healthy interpersonal relationships. The general objective is to investigate whether there is a relationship between initial maladaptive schemas and empathy in university students. To answer this question a quantitative correlational and cross-sectional design was used. The sample of this research was made up of 60 university students who were initially selected for convenience and the Snow Ball sample selection method was adopted. This project was submitted to and approved by Feevale University's research ethics committee under CAAE number 63163716.3.0000.5348. After signing the Informed Consent Form (ICF) the subjects answered the Sociodemographic Questionnaire the Davis Multidimensional Interpersonal Reactivity Scale (EMRI) and the Young Schema Questionnaire (YSQ-S2). These results together indicate that there is a relationship between empathy and early maladaptive schemas.
