The Rescue

From the beginning of humanity we people have been bringing ourselves to ruin. And for as long as we have been bringing ourselves to ruin God has been with us helping us loving us and rescuing us. Those of us in addiction recovery need to know: we are not alone among humanity; our story is not uncommon in history; we're not beyond the help of God; and God has been rescuing His ruined people since the beginning of time. This book is a proclamation of this truth. Each chapter of the book focuses on a single Step of recovery. With each Step I propose a Principle and a Reality and I offer a brief reflection on the Step. I've chosen a few Scripture verses related to the Step; and I include a short commentary on the Scripture itself. Each chapter includes a workbook or journal reflection and discussion prompts. Each chapter concludes with a proclamation a statement of God and His work. If you've experienced the terrible crisis of needing rescue this book is for you.
