The Resident

<p class=ql-align-justify>Poetry is my go-to medium and is perhaps the most representative for people of all ages. Unlike the cycles of classical heroic epics these occasional poems are shorter more intimate works with a more scattered pedigree but often similar themes. <em>The Resident</em> was written over the last decade and features work from three countries England Ireland and the United Arab Emirates. It follows on the heels of the translations in <em>The Accidental Ethnographer</em> composed while I was resident in Abu Dhabi and co-translated from Arabic hence the title. I bring my own voice to the party and in so doing hope to encourage others who feel unrepresented to compose vignettes of their own devising.</p><p><br></p>
