The role of a novel group of plastid transporters in GSH metabolism
English

About The Book

The model described here suggests the plastid is the major contributor to cytosolic GSH while Wachter et al. (2005) based on the relative levels of the different transcripts speculated that the major isoform of wildtype GSH2 is cytosolic. It will be important to directly determine the relative amounts of the two GSH2 isoforms. Although only a single band was observed on the Western blots of GSH2 from the wildtype the predicted endogenous plastidic GSH2 (54.5 kDa) and the expected cytosolic GSH2 (53.8 kDa) may not be easily discriminated and this remains an important question to be addressed.
