The Role of the Un Security Council

This book based on a PhD dissertation covers the negotiation history of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) including the role of the UN Security Council in addressing withdrawal from the NPT. It assesses the powers of the UN Security Council under the UN Charter to determine whether this powerful organ of the UN possesses the mandate to address announcements of withdrawal by a State from the NPT and examines the options available to the UN Security Council.
