The Sacred Arts of Eastern Orthodoxy

Here are presented the scholarly papers from the 2015 Sophia Institute International Conference on Eastern Orthodox Christian Art and Culture. Theologians Art-historiansmusicologists liturgists and iconographic practitionerscollaborate in this volume to present a dynamic and holistic view of the Sacred Arts of the Orthodox Church. A majority of studies relate to ecclesiastical Iconography ancient and modern but the 'sacred arts' of rhetoric hagiography education and music are also expertly treated.
