<p>Adventure. Love. Tragedy. Redemption.</p><p>Fresh out of college young Rev. Jacob Chandler is assigned to travel a preaching circuit near his childhood home in southern Ohio. Growing up on a farm Jacob had been shielded from many of the harsh realities of the day which he now encounters. He learns quickly about the difficult sometimes tragic lives of the people who make their living on the Ohio Canal. Invited to minister regularly to travelers at a nearby stop on the Underground Railroad he becomes involved in their escape at great peril to himself and his position in the Church. His faith carries him through his many challenges but when the parents of the woman he loves send her away to prevent her from marrying a poor saddlebag preacher Jacob is devastated. Will he wait for a reunion that may never happen or will he follow his heart and retrieve her to elope? </p>
