The plot follows a man named Mr. Fleece who finds himself caught in a web of misunderstandings after his son George is involved in a series of mishaps. When Mr. Fleece is mistakenly accused of wrongdoing he must navigate a series of absurd situations where the blame for everything seems to fall on him much to the amusement of the audience. In true farcical fashion the play culminates in a series of comedic reversals where the real culprits are revealed and Mr. Fleece is exonerated. The fast-paced humor filled with witty dialogue and farcical situations ultimately highlights the absurdity of scapegoating and the folly of jumping to conclusions.
