The Scars or Matrimony

<p>Tina narrates her ordeal in an abusive marriage. Despite cheating death several times she chose to stay. Deep inside she could feel the situation wasn't going to change but she held on. Brought up in a culture that does not believe in divorce she was torn between what culture dictates and what was right for her. She feared she will lose her friends and she also worried about society - that she will become an outcast if she walked from her marriage! Financial constraints was another reason Tina stayed in an abusive marriage; she could not afford to take care of her four children. Tina had to make a decision of whether to die by staying in an abusive relationship or run for her life.</p>
