"Simran Joshi, a Canadian 15 year old girl froman Indian background who discovered thatpoetry was her biggest passion. She began writingat the age of 12 and writes poetry almost everyday. Her experiences, her morals, her thoughts,and her ideas are essential components of herpoetry. She writes to relate to people and toconvey messages because she believes that poetryis never the author’s creation but it is what thereader makes it. Simran describes words as her“medicine” to the pain, as her “encouragement” in this journey and asa part of her life. She is no great writer, but a teenager who has madethe strength of words visible throughout the book."
