The sexual behavior of camelids

The dromedary is the main domestic animal species capable of exploiting the most the most difficult ecological zones and to ensure productions. Indeed its milk and meat production as well as its use as a draught animal and saddle animal play an undeniable role in the household economy and food security of the pastoral populations of the north. According to these populations the dromedary is the source of life. In addition to these important economic and nutritional roles camels also play an important socio-cultural role. For the inhabitants of the northern part of Mali the animal is intimately associated with their culture and society.This book will contribute to the strengthening of knowledge on the estrous cycle of females in thein the Sahelian zone of Mali under the conditions of semi-intensive breeding ofstation. Specifically it will aim to- to determine the hormonal fluctuations of females during the estrous cycle;- to describe the sexual behavior of female dromedaries in heat.
