For many of us maintaining balance in terms of our social emotional and physical health has become quite the challenge. The cycle is unhealthy and we all know that when leaders are not socially and emotionally healthy they do not lead effectively or achieve meaningful results. This book provides leaders (and we are all leaders in some manner) with guidance support and hope. Researchers have found that Social-Emotional Learning actually improves a variety of outcomes for both children and adults (Casel 2020). Although research on Adult SEL is still emerging it is promising and very relevant to the issues of stress frustration and burnout facing our workforce. We know that adults take their cues from their leaders. Therefore it is necessary for those leaders to possess and exhibit strong social and emotional skills; not only for their own well-being but in order to foster social-emotional and leadership skills whenever and wherever they lead.
