The sociology of knowledge of the Basaa people of Cameroon

This book is a study in sociology of knowledge. Sociology of knowledge explores relationships between thought and society between knowledge and social structure. The issue in focus here the relationship between a world-view and the socio-political structure and relations among a people. In specific terms among the Basaa people we have named mbog as their world-view. The question was to fathom the extent to which this world-view underpins social and political order among the Basaa people. The ultimate objective we set for ourselves was the circumscription of a welter of processes out of which group life arises among the Basaa people: modes of thinking and underlying values.
