The Sovereignty of God

Is it God or the Devil who is in charge of the affairs of this world today? Although it is widely acknowledged that God reigns supreme in Heaven it is virtually completely disputed that He does so in this world—if not directly then indirectly. Men are increasingly relegating God to the background in their philosophising and thinking. Take for example the material realm. Not only is it disputed that God created everything by personal and direct action but few people believe that He is concerned about managing His own handiwork. The (impersonal and abstract) rules of Nature are designed to keep everything in order. As a result the Creator is cast out of His own creation. As a result it is unsurprising that mankind in their demeaning ideas omit Him from the picture.
