The Sphere

The Sphere - is a novel by Corneel Booysen. The book describes the physical emotional and spiritual journey of a character named Victor that relocates to a foreign country with his family. While the book initially describes the journey from a physical perspective and occasionally describes general emotional aspects associated with relocation it quickly turns into a much deeper spiritual and emotional journey as the family joins an organization called the Sphere.The book was deliberately written to be read as if it could happen in any age. Technology is rarely mentioned as to not distract the reader of the book from the story. Transportation is by horse and wagon for land and ship for sea travel. No device or technology is mentioned and the monetary system is in the form of precious metals. As such the reviewer might date the book a few centuries ago. While this is not necessarily wrong - the reviewer should keep in mind that the purpose of all of this was to strip the story bare from any distractions.
