<p>The Handbook gives a descriptive sketch of St. Vincent's topography</p><p>geology and climate with historical notes from 1498. It provides in chronological</p><p>order highlights of the years with different aspects of the colony's</p><p>history providing some like the volcanic eruptions of 1812 and 1902 and the</p><p>English-Carib war of 1795-1796 in greater detail. The Handbook also carries short pieces on a variety of places of interest: the</p><p>churches Botanic Garden the Carnegie Free Public Library the secondary</p><p>schools at that time the Glen Community School that no longer exists the</p><p>Agricultural School city and towns the Grenadine islands the governors and</p><p>administrators who had served the colony and names of government officers</p><p>in the public service among others. Although dated 1938 the Handbook still</p><p>provides a lot of valuable historical information that could be easily accessed</p><p>by following the chronology of events.</p>
