Two pigeons Golu and Dholu set out from their city in search of adventure. After a race with friends they flew far and rested on a golden statue called the Happy Queen. To their surprise the statue was weeping. She revealed her sorrow—once a joyful queen now saddened by the poverty and suffering she saw in her kingdom after death. Moved by her tears the pigeons asked how they could help. The queen showed them a poor woman with wounded hands struggling to care for her sick child.
