The Taguba Report on Treatment of Abu Ghraib Prisoners in Iraq: Article 15-6 Investigation of the 800th Military Police Brigade

This systemic and illegal abuse of detainees was intentionally perpetuated by several members of the military police guard force. There was a severe lapse in the accountability of detainees at the Abu Ghraib Prison complex. Finally released to the public in March 2004 THE TAGUBA REPORT provides specific findings and offers official recommendations on the subject of detainee abuses prisoner escapes and the militarys accountability. Whats more it details the command climate that resulted in the devastating mistreatments carried out by U.S. military personnel in Iraq. For the first time this report assesses the Department of Defenses Counter-Terrorism Interrogations and Detention Operations as well as presenting evidence related to initial investigations into the actions and perspectives of military intelligence personnel.
