Alexander Pushkin published The Fairy Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Knights also known as The Lifeless/Dead Princess as early as the 1820s. The complete fairy story is essentially told in this rendition but there are many variations from the Grimm version: It is not called Snow White; rather it is a nameless princess. She runs to seven knights rather than seven dwarves. There are no longer the incidents involving the laced bodice or the poisoned comb.
