About The Book

The title of this book The Train is Coming is based upon a 1965 single by the Impressions. The line people get ready there is a train a coming evokes the journey of Larry C. Rogers during the 70's 80's and 90's traveling by subway throughout the New York City area. This poetry collection - inspired by the poet Langston Hughes - captures snapshots of urban life from subway platforms to the streets.
