The Treatment Team Approach in Addiction

Is there a requirement that psychotherapy be effectively provided by ONLY one therapist? Could multiple therapists provide a better fit between them and the client? However there hasn't been any academic literature that examines the effectiveness of a treatment team approach particularly when applied to the problem of substance abuse. This book reviews the literature on the current approaches to addiction treatment factors which are critical to the change process and various types of teams. It examines the client's role within this treatment team format. The analysis of the findings sheds some light on this new approach. It should be particularly useful for those individuals in the helping professions or anyone else interested in the field of psychology and addiction.
