<p>Rob Mead didn't plan on becoming a Sheriff's Deputy but when he entered the Academy in 1959 at the age of 21 he found it suited him. For nearly 30 years patrolling the streets of Los Angeles in uniform undercover as part of the specially-trained SWAT team and working in the prisons he saw it all. He was involved in historic events met the famous and the infamous protected presidents and saved lives. He witnessed the best and worst of humanity: heroism and cruelty courage and tragedy loyal friendship and the craziest behavior you can imagine. Law enforcement wasn't always pretty.
