The Turning Point

In September 1862 General Robert E. Lee invades Maryland with the hope of obtaining diplomatic recognition of European nations for the Confederacy. The whirlwind of events that follows changes not only the destiny of the nation but the destinies of two young people on a pilgrimage of self-discovery.</p>Fifteen-year-old Meg Hamilton orphaned after the deaths of her mother and grandfather is desperately unhappy living with an aunt and uncle who despise her.
