The Turquoise Monkey

<p>On a rainy weekend in Autumn six-year-old Jordan finds herself feeling very lonely at home. She decides to draw a picture of her desired friend. Imagining a fun companion that she would love to have Jordan creates a cute monkey in her favorite turquoise color. This drawing becomes her obsession. Even though Jordan never gives up hoping she knows that her wish is unlikely to ever come true.</p><p></p><p>Golden Snub-nosed Monkey</p><p></p><p>The Golden Snub-nosed monkey is a rare endangered species of primate found in Central and Southwestern mountainous regions of China. Their population has decreased due to loss of habitat mainly because of deforestation and disruption. Found in a relatively small area any disruption to their environment such as human settlement or removing their main food sources is a threat to their ultimate survival. Monitoring this species and continuing conservation efforts for these beautiful elusive creatures is essential. </p>
