Nuclear power systems were developed to provide useful energy for the generation of electricity as well as power energy used to propel boats submarines power plants and of course weapons of mass destruction. The authors of this book provided necessary knowledge to capture nuclear produced energy for non-military utilization. Because of their combined knowledge of both nuclear and non-nuclear physics there were times they were asked to aid in the development of the atomic bomb. Through the authors' accomplishments the benefits of creating and utilizing energy from nuclear reactions was shown to be naturally acceptable and controllable. Their work recognizes nuclear based energy for its benefits and not for a weapon of mass-destruction.
