The writing of the book Hardaker Angina in Bengali was initiated following a personal experience. After stepping into retired life at the age of 65+ years I went to a private hospital in Kolkata for a thorough medical check-up. After all sorts of test done there I was diagnosed to have developed ischaemia in my heart for which the cardiologist-in-charge suggested for undergoing angiographic investigation. He also told that I might suffer from heart attack any time. This comment of the doctor made me mentally upset. To release my mental pressure I entered a book shop within the same hospital building and went on turning the pages of books and magazines one after another without any serious reading. During that endeavour I noticed a book entitled Your Doctor may not be knowing about Nutritional Medicine may be killing you written by an American practicing physician Ray D. Strand (Magma Publications Paper Back edition). Immediately I picked up the book and very quickly glanced through its pages and got the essence of the text matter provided therein. I bought the book and completed a non-stop reading back home. As a biochemist and molecular biologist the subject matter dealt in the book took to my mind. As a biochemist and molecular biologist I felt it to be very relevant for the maintenance and management of health through nutritional approach.
