mayalyn releases her debut publication the unbecoming with great anticipation and vulnerability. Encompassing topics of suicide death loss heartbreak abuse trauma and mental illness alongside topics of hope growth trust love and self-conceptualization we journey through the arc of human emotion fallibility and connection. Her 200 page poetry collection is comprised of six chapters: the losing the breaking the wondering the hurting the loving and the growing. This candid and emotional collection explores what it means to deconstruct the misconstrued and skewed perceptions we have held and what it looks like to work towards changing the long-held perspectives of ourselves and the world around us.
