Is there a difference between learning and education? Are we simply preparing for exams or learning something? In a quiz contest in Europe suppose a question Who discovered India? is asked the correct answer could be Vasco Da Gama. Suppose the same question is asked in India what should be the answer? Vasco Da Gama? It is so as per the modern education system not otherwise. We certainly knew ourselves our land and a lot more about our country irrespective of Vasco da Gama right? If a guest comes home lives with us for a week and writes about us would that become our history overruling everything else we knew about ourselves for 1000s of years? That is precisely how our education expects us to look at our very own history. Are all those educated employed in their field of study and happy with what they are doing?
