About The Book

This is the true story of a Kashmiri militant as recounted by him and his parents. He was a member of the terrorist group Lashkar-i-Taiba. The story traces his life from birth to recruitment in the organisation his training in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir life as a militant and finally his repentance and reformation on being explained the tenets of Islam by an old Muslim scholar who helps him realise how religious principles have been misunderstood misinterpreted and misquoted. The author belongs to the Kashmiri Pandit (Hindu) community that has suffered the most due to militancy finally leading to its eviction from the Valley. However it is his firm conviction that Islam per se is as peaceful a religion as any. The book takes the reader through the real experiences of the acute strife and unimaginable suffering endured by the Kashmiri people both Pandits and Muslims since 1989-1990.
