Among the numerous definitions of rhythmic gymnastics we can present it as an art and as a sport. As an art it is conceptualized as the search for beauty an explosion of talent and creativity in which bodily expression and technical virtuosity develop together forming a harmonious whole of movement and rhythm. As a sport it is essentially a female sport which requires a high level of development of certain physical qualities with high performance requirements aiming for technical perfection in the execution of complex movements with the body and apparatus.
