The use of puppets in early childhood emotional development

This study analyzes the use of puppets as a pedagogical tool to improve the emotional development of children in the first year of elementary school. Carried out in the José Ángel Palacio Educational Unit it evaluated 22 children by means of the EDEI test identifying initial emotional difficulties. Through activities with puppets significant improvements in empathy understanding and emotional regulation were achieved. Puppets proved to be effective mediators to express emotions foster imagination and strengthen social skills. It is concluded that this didactic technique not only enriches learning but also contributes to children's integral development and its incorporation in innovative educational strategies is recommended.
