The Useless Class in the Democratic Republic of Congo explores the socio-economic ramifications of the growing exclusion of part of the population in a context of economic transformation. This work highlights the phenomenon of a marginalized class resulting from automation and lack of access to education and modern technologies. This work calls for in-depth reflection on the public policies needed to counter this trend notably through investment in education and vocational training as well as the promotion of equitable access to digital technologies.
