John William Polidori Was A Friend And Physician To The Famous Romantic Poet Lord Byron. He Wrote The Vampyre As Part Of A Ghost Story Competition With Byron And Mary Shelley The Author Of Frankenstein During A Rainy Summer In Switzerland. While Polidori'S Work Is Not As Widely Known As Frankenstein It Played A Significant Role In The Development Of Vampire Literature And The Popularization Of The Vampire Archetype.
