The Viennese start-up landscape from a feminist perspective

Women are still underrepresented as company founders in Austria. However the discrepancy between female and male start-up founders is particularly striking. Austria ranks last in the EU in this respect. In order to get to the root of the structural causes of this phenomenon gender-specific differences are systematically analysed with a focus on economic social and cultural stereotypes. The main focus is on the venture capital scene in Vienna and its understanding of gender roles.
