<p><strong>When I woke daylight had just broken.</strong></p><p>Toe ek wakker word het die daglig net aangebreek.</p><p><strong>I attempted to rise but I could not get up.</strong></p><p>Ek het probeer opstaan maar ek kon nie opstaan nie.</p><p><strong>I had happened to fall asleep on my back.</strong></p><p>Ek het toevallig op my rug aan die slaap geraak.</p><p><strong>And now my arms and legs were fastened to the ground.</strong></p><p>En nou was my arms en bene aan die grond vasgemaak.</p><p><strong>My hair which was long and thick was tied down too.</strong></p><p>My hare wat lank en dik was was ook vasgebind.</p><p><strong>I could only look upward unable to move in any way.</strong></p><p>Ek kon net opwaarts kyk glad nie in staat om te beweeg nie.</p><p><strong>The sun began to grow hot and the light hurt my eyes.</strong></p><p>Die son het begin warm word en die lig het my oë seergemaak.</p><p><strong>I heard a confused noise all around me.</strong></p><p>Ek het 'n verwarde geluid oral om my gehoor.</p><p><strong>But I could see nothing except the sky above me.</strong></p><p>Maar ek kon niks sien behalwe die lug bo my nie.</p><p><strong>After a little time I felt something alive.</strong></p><p>Na 'n rukkie het ek iets lewendigs gevoel.</p><p><strong>Something was moving on my left leg.</strong></p><p>Iets het aan my linkerbeen beweeg.</p><p><strong>It gently advanced over my chest.</strong></p><p>Dit het saggies oor my bors beweeg.</p><p><strong>And then it came almost up to my chin.</strong></p><p>En toe kom dit amper tot by my ken.</p><p><strong>I looked down as well as I could.</strong></p><p>Ek het so goed as wat ek kon afgekyk.</p><p><strong>I perceived what looked like a little human creature.</strong></p><p>Ek het iets waargeneem wat soos 'n klein menslike wesentjie gelyk het.</p><p><strong>The man could not have been more than six inches high.</strong></p><p>Die man kon nie meer as ses duim lank gewees het nie.</p><p><strong>He had a little bow and arrow in his hands.</strong></p><p>Hy het 'n klein pyl en boog in sy hande gehad.</p>
