About The Book

The war in Ukraine has marked a critical juncture in global and regional security. The reverberations of this conflict extend well beyond the borders of Eastern Europe challenging the existing international order and the assumptions of security frameworks that have underpinned peace in Europe since the latter stages of the twentieth century. The invasion of Ukraine by Russia is not only a devastating humanitarian crisis but also a geopolitical event with wide-ranging implications for military strategy international diplomacy and global security policy.

The chapters in this Volume represent the research outputs of the fourth cohort of students on the Postgraduate Diploma in Global Affairs and Diplomacy delivered jointly by the War Studies University in Poland and the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom. As the war in Ukraine grinds on into its second year the collected analyses presented here represent an extraordinary and critical set of reflections on this - the most significant security crisis in the European continent since the end of the Cold War.
