The War of the Wenuses

<p><em>The War of the Wenuses</em> is a satirical parody of H.G. Wells' <em>The War of the Worlds</em> published in 1898 under the pseudonym Q (later attributed to E.V. Lucas and C.L. Graves). It humorously inverts Wells' novel by depicting an invasion of Earth by Venusian women or Wenuses who bring their own absurd and exaggerated form of conquest. The book is a lighthearted spoof that mocks both Wells' serious tone and the conventions of invasion literature at the time.</p><p></p>
