The wear behavior of heat treated Aluminum bronze matrix composite
English

About The Book

Bronzes are widely used in several tribological applications. Aluminium bronzes do not contain any solid lubricant like lead in leaded-tin bronzes. As a consequence their wear behaviors should become different than that of leaded-tin bronzes in identical operating conditions. It has been observed that despite wide application potential of leaded-tin and aluminum bronzes attempts made towards understanding their wear behavior from technical and scientific standpoints have been limited. The purpose of this work was to investigate the wear behavior of Cu-8.3wt.%Al in the first matrix and their composites in the second matrix Cu10.17wt.% Al reinforced 316 L stainless steel wire as first reinforcement and316 L stainless steel particles as second reinforcement wear behavioure were carfuly studed for as cast and heat treated alloys. Different heat treatments parameters were also studied to clarify the effect of the phase precipitation and stainless steel wire and particles on the sliding wear behavior and the microstructure of these alloys and composites.
