The Wear Behaviour Of Detonation Sprayed Coatings On Grey cast Iron
English

About The Book

Wear is very common and severe problem in agriculture mining steel and in industry. Wear destroy national wealth in the multi-billion dollar range annually and very high economic loss to countries. As the wear is surface phenomenon and occurs mostly at outer surfaces therefore use of protective coatings is very economical way to prevent wear. So in the present research efforts will be made to reduce the wear rate of Braking Disc Rotors made of grey cast iron with Detonation Sprayed Coatings. In the present study two Coatings i.e. Stellite-6 and WC-12CO have been deposited on two substrate materials GI250 and GIHC. These coatings have been characterized by XRD and SEM/EDAX analysis. Further wear tests were performed on pin on disc wear testing machine for the coated and uncoated samples of grey cast iron.
