The Wind Rose

The Greek philosopher Epicurus (341-270 BC) proposed that atoms always travel in straight lines. But sometimes he said they swerve. It is this random and unpredictable occurrence which makes free will possible. Inspired by the true story of Samantha Smith the Wind Rose is a fictional account of natural law at work examining the virtue of youth and the power of free will. Awakened by a mischievous night mare Emily finds a balloon in the morning sky over Lake Constance carrying with it a secret that triggers an unlikely adventure. Her natural curiosity leads her to America where she finds both courage and her conscience in the midst of a global pandemic.
