The Woman’s Bible

The Womans Bible is a radical and controversial work that challenges traditional interpretations of the Bible regarding womens roles and rights. Stanton and a group of women scholars and activists known as the The Womans Bible Committee critically examined various biblical passages related to women and presented alternative interpretations. In Volume 2 Stanton and her committee focus on the New Testament and continue their critical examination of biblical passages that pertain to women. They explore how certain teachings and doctrines have been used to reinforce gender-based hierarchies and restrict womens agency and autonomy. The book proposes alternative interpretations that align with feminist principles and emphasize womens dignity and equality.
