This novel follows Joseph Andrews a young virtuous footman who sets off on a journey to reunite with his true love Fanny Goodwill after being dismissed from his job. Along the way Joseph encounters various characters and situations that expose the hypocrisies and follies of society. The novel is a parody of Samuel Richardson's Pamela and is noted for its satire and commentary on class and virtue.
