The Works of St. Anselm

Proslogion (1077-1078): In this work St. Anselm presents his famous ontological argument for the existence of God. He seeks to demonstrate the existence of a being that is greater than which nothing can be conceived and that being is God. Monologion (c. 1076-1077): This work is another philosophical and theological treatise in which St. Anselm explores various arguments for the existence and nature of God. Cur Deus Homo (c. 1094-1098): Translated as Why God Became Man this work is St. Anselm''s major treatise on the atonement. He explains the necessity and reasons for the Incarnation and how Christ''s death and resurrection were essential for the redemption of humanity. De Veritate (On Truth): This work deals with the nature of truth and explores the relationship between faith and reason in understanding truth.
