The Year 1102 - Jaws of Borrowdale

<p>King Henry's accession to the English throne ten years after the Normans annexed Cumbria threatens to end the independence of those living within the sanctuary of the Lakeland fells.</p><p><br></p><p>Acting in the King's name avaricious barons attempt to dispossess Lady Ealdgith's family and force them to flee from their Ullswater lands to the safety of Borrowdale and a new home under the shadow of what is today called Castle Crag.  </p><p><br></p><p>Under Gytha's leadership the people of the Lake District are inspired to resist Norman control culminating in a final battle from the crag that dominates the 'Jaws of Borrowdale'.</p><p><br></p><p><span style=color: rgba(15 17 17 1)>The concluding tale in the Harrying of the North series is written around historical characters and the geography of the Lake District. </span></p><p><br></p><p><span style=color: rgba(15 17 17 1)>The story brings to life the dramatic military political and social events of that time.
