The Story Moves Forward To China In 1944 Where An Essential Element Of The Story Takes Place Before Bringing The Reader Forward To 1945 Le Havre And Then Quickly Forward To 1947 To A Girls’ School In England Where The Main Story Develops. There Were Three Seemingly Impossible Conditions Spelled Out More Than 400 Years Earlier Which Will Allow That Curse On Two Families To Be Lifted. All Of Them Coincide In One Place; That School.The Story Deeply Involves One Of The Young Teachers In The School And A Male Teacher Blinded In That War. He Has Been Reluctantly Taken On To Fulfill A Requirement That Ensures The Continuation Of A Generous Grant To The School. There Are Several Forces At Work To See Him Gone As Quickly As Possible While Others Intend To Keep Him There. The School Has A Friendly But Desperate 'Presence' Which Recognizes The First Opportunity In All Of That Time To Break A Curse Laid Four Hundred And Fifty Years Earlier And That Has Come Close To Destroying Two Families. To Break It Requires That The Young Teacher And That Male Teacher Must Cooperate To Understand Each Other And To Fulfill Certain Emotionally Challenging Conditions Concerning How It Is To Be Undone. The Impossible Became Possible Only When He And He Alone Walked Through The Door Into That Particular School. He Must Not Be Allowed To Leave Until All Of The Requirements Have Been Fulfilled. A Frustrated Entity And A Determined Young Woman Eventually Overwhelm His Reservations About What Is Required. These Individual Threads Slowly And Inevitably Intertwine And Lead Into A Tale Of Mystery Outspoken Honesty And Adventure As The Curse Is Lifted And Cedric A Man Dead For More Than 400 Years Is Finally Put To Rest.
