THEATRE SPORT and the IMPROVISATION MATCH in actor training

About The Book

This work investigated the relevance of improvisation work with THEATRE-SPORT and IMPROVISATION MATCH in 'stage training' and actor preparation analyzing its component elements and the dynamics of execution and development that have been consolidated in Canada Argentina and European countries as an artistic practice. In Brazil there are groups that work with these practices but in the literature there is little academic research on Theater-Sport and Match. As basic frameworks for studying the importance of improvisation in actor training the principles of Keith Johnstone's Theater-Sport and Gravel and Leduc's Improvisational Match are addressed as well as an experience with games based on Classical Melodrama as enhancers of the capacity for play and spontaneous flow in actor creations. It is in the 'pleasure of being present' that Theater-Sport and Improvisation Match are developed and enhanced in the player or elementary school student experimenting with theatrical experiences. And it is in this range of possibilities that theater resides without age limits beliefs and experiencing the here and now.
