Catherine Saint-Cyr Anderson was once described as a shot of pure oxygen by one of her poet friends and so it is. Here are about three dozen reflections on life written from an old country farmhouse in upstate New York around the turn of the 21st Century. Saint-Cyr Anderson began writing after the death of her husband Richard and this little volume could be read as a love letter to him. It is a mosaic of moments (stamped here and there by whimsey and irreverence) drawn from her lives past and present. Whether traveling or at home the author has an appreciative eye for the natural beauty of her surroundings: the ocean perhaps or the familiar northern landscape of mountains and clearings beneath an ever-changing sky.
