As a result of this lack of analysis the lack of clarity has been evidenced in the moments of differentiating: What is formative research and what is scientific research although it is true that the two investigations are part of knowledge it is clear that each of them fulfills its functions at each level of the construction of learning therefore the lack of theoretical guidelines hinders the process of formative research in university students. As general objective to analyze the theoretical guidelines of the formative research to guarantee the exploratory knowledge of the students and the didactic methodology of the university teacher and as specific objectives to found the theoretical guidelines that guarantee the formative research to describe that the exploratory knowledge guarantees the process of formative research of the university students to explain that the didactic methodology of the university teacher gives way to the formative research of the students.
